2008 - 2009 Club Season Reaches End
The fifth year of the Wisconsin Volleyball Academy came to a close this past weekend with the 18-Black team completing play at the PrepVolleyball.com Classic in Wisconsin Dells. The team went 3-4 for the tournament and saw competition from multiple regions around the country. The club would like to recognize this year's seniors for their contributions to the club:

This was, without question, the most successful season in the history of the club. The club garnered 9 1st place finishes in 6 different age groups. The club fielded 19 traveling teams and a developmental squad during the year. Looking ahead to the 2009-2010 season Academy is envisioning adding squads at a number of age groups and again providing separate teams at the 12 and 13-year-old levels. As always we will be in need of people interested in coaching and assisting with our growing club. Anyone interested should email the club to begin the process.
WVA Nightmare Named to USA Volleyball Boy's Select A2 Camp!
Brian Stark (MB, So., Kimberly, 17-Fox Valley) has been selected to participate in an elite camp to be held July 10th - 15th at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Brian attended a February tryout in Milwaukee that earned him a spot at this camp. We hope to entice Brian to keep us up to date during his visit to Colorado and will be posting stories on his travels as they become available. Congratulations to Brian and his family for this terrific opportunity. Represent us well!!
Badger High Performance Camp Fast Approaching
July 17th marks the beginning of the Badger Region HP camp in which 4 Academy girls will have an opportunity to make one of two teams that will be traveling to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for an elite competition between many of the regions of USA Volleyball. Hoping to join boys Dane Maier (OH, Sr., Middleton, 18-Madison) and Noah Mader (MB, Jr., Appleton East, 18-Fox Valley) on one of the region's teams are Cat Mayer (L, Jr., Neenah, 17-Black), Marisa Ebli (OP, So., Ashwabenon, 16-Black), Jenni Fassbender (OH, Fr., Kaukauna, 16-Black), and McKenzie Farrell (OH, Fr., Wrightstown, 16-Black). Good luck to each of these athletes at the camp.
WVA Adds Two New Board Members
Co-Director B.J. Bryant announced on June 15th that the club had elected two new members for the board. Wende Fassbender and Mike Voigt were selected to serve 2-year terms with the Academy board of directors. Mike has served as the head coach for the Fox Valley 18 boys team over the past few seasons while Wendi is a parent of one of the club's members. On behalf of Co-Directors Bryant and Jon Ellmann, and fellow board members Bruce Moriarty, Steve Scheuerell, Stacy Thiel, the club would like to welcome Wende and Mike to their new positions!
